Missing Camp Already
I had a great time: amazing facilitie, incredibly well organised, such a nice group of fellow athletes, so good to get solid block of training in!
Really looking forward to using this as a platform for the rest of the year and looking forward already to next time :)
Apart from your long marathon training run this weekend, enjoy a well deserved rest - great job!
WOW WHAT A CAMP
I just wanted to say thank you once again for such an amazing and inspiring week!
I learnt so much about myself and what the body and mind can do, met some great people and of course the time with yourself was invaluable.
I woke this morning actually wishing I could go for a swim in the sea. Instead I have piles of washing to do haha!!
Thank you so much for arranging such an excellent training camp and what a lovely bunch of people!
The camp was such a great introduction to the sport. I like a challenge and I am pleased to have been stretched outside my comfort zone!
Raring to go on the next stage of the journey and look forward to your feedback once you are back!
The BEST Training Camps
"Best" means lots of things to lots of people. To us it means a camp that is as enjoyable as it can be with a great mix of athletes, whilst delivering as much performance improvement "bang for buck" as we can squeeze in.
Our camps are for athletes of all levels and abilities that want to benefit from experiencing the facilities, techniques and coaching that elite athletes use.
We believe that our combination of world class coaching, elite athletes training alongside and with you, and great locations delivers this.
World class coaching, based around the SISU racing philosophy
Great locations with warm pools, sunshine, great rides and fun run trails
All backed up with great support and the appropriate level of technology.
We are there to inspire you. Whether you're preparing for your first race, stepping up a distance, or an experienced competitor, the coaching is designed around your needs.
When, Where, How Much?
We have two duration of stays for the camp, 7 Days and 10 Days, all arriving on the 10th of March 2022
For 2022 the location is Fuerteventura, staying at the Playitas Sports Resort, which boasts an temperature of 22°C with a low of 16°C , which is part of the reason that almost every Pro cycle team trains there as part of their season prep and every major European Pro Triathlete in preparation for their season. They have majestic climbs, fast rolling flats, great sea swim conditions, amazing trails for running and ball bearing smooth tarmac.
Cost for a week starts at £1,400.00 per person based upon single occupancy , if you want to book 10 days the cost to do this £1,600.00. Single occupancy.
The Playitas Resort has been voted one of Europe’s top triathlon training centres by professional triathletes, coaches and specialised publications, and it’s where the triathlon elite prepare for the season
Remember most importantly that it is your week to enjoy so you can do as much or little of the training as you wish, you will each have different aims/goals for this week so it is important you keep these in mind during the week and communicate these to the coach to ensure you’re working towards them.
We want this to be an enjoyable, rewarding and fun experience.
What does a week look like
The camp week will include 18-27 hours of training across all three disciplines. Under the guidance of a world class coach you will cover everything from open water swimming, videoed pool swim analysis concentrating on technique, beautiful rides with majestic climbs and rolling roads, to running effectively off the bike and seminars on fuelling and recovery, with a focus on building your base with the correct balance of speed work, everything you need to excel in your season ahead.
A focus on a tough (but manageable) training load so that you go home with a significant training effect.
There will still be a chance for anyone to focus on technique in your swim and run. Video analysis will be taken and discussed individually or a group, so that you leave the holiday with a clear idea of where and how you can improve technically over the next few weeks in the lead up to your race.
Half board for your nutritional needs
Shared or single accommodation, if you want to bring your family and combine the trip then please do let us know
Open water swimming is included in the schedule, a great chance for you to practice your deep water starts, swimming through varying water conditions and honing those race tactics- sighting, drafting and turning around buoys.
There is no ability level that cannot be catered for! We will have a range of rides, runs and swims out at any one time so even if you are new to the sport, or your training for your first IRONMAN® or IRONMAN® 70.3® event- don't be put off.
Fully supported rides, with a support car and mechanic for longer excursions
Optional individual functional movement screening (FMS)
Athlete report card detailing all areas worked on and advice given during the duration of the stay with SISU Racing (by email)
